Race for the Cure with Susan G. Komen

The annual event raises significant funds for the breast cancer movement.

HOUSTON — It all started with a promise to a dying sister that something would be done to fight breast cancer. Today women have the best fighting chance of survival in part because of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The Susan G. Komen Foundation mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Executive Director of Komen Houston, Julie Voss, stopped by Great Day Houston to talk about the largest footrace in Houston and many other cities.

The 2019 Race for the Cure will take place on Saturday, October 5th at Sam Houston Park. Registration opens at 6 am.
