HOUSTON — Deborah Duncan sat down with Jimmy Rogers, the founder of Boots For Troops, to discuss how the organization is giving back to service members deployed overseas. While serving in the United States Navy, Rodgers noticed some fellow service members received care packages full of items that the service members didn't need or want.

This prompted Rodgers to create a custom care package program. Each package would be focused on the individual and would come with a new pair of boots. Boots For Troops hand makes each care package for individuals after learning about the soldiers hobbies, interests, likes and dislikes. The care packages are made so that recipients actually feel the love when they open the package.

Boots For Troops is kicking off Memorial Day weekend with a care packaging party this Saturday. Join them from 12 to 4 pm at the Balmoral Crystal Clear Lagoon & Beach Club In Humble, TX. For more information, visit boots4troops.org
