HOUSTON — On Monday, February 18, Deborah Duncan sat down with the Founder of Justice For Children, Randy Burton, and COO Lisa Mikosh. When Burton was a prosecutor for the Harris County D.A.’s Office in the 1980s, he saw firsthand the risks of leaving children with their abusive parents as part of CPS’ plan for the “family.” Justice for Children was founded to give these children a voice, and to give them advocates in the legal system. Through their call center, Justice for Children assists and refers several thousand callers annually. The organization is also involved in a variety of legal research projects, education initiatives, and collaborations with the community.
