James Beard Award nominated-chef, Christine Ha honors her Vietnamese heritage with dishes from her Houston restaurants

Known as the first blind chef to win it all during MasterChef's third season, Houston chef Christine Ha shares her story as she connects people through her cooking

HOUSTON — Known as "The Blind Cook", Christine Ha is the first-ever blind contestant and season 3 winner of MasterChef with Gordon Ramsay.  

After winning the coveted MasterChef title and a $250,000 cash prize, Christine Ha published her first cookbook, "Recipes From My Home Kitchen: Asian and American Comfort Food". 

Ha’s first restaurant in Houston, The Blind Goat, features fresh spins on Vietnamese fare. 

Her second restaurant, Xin Chào, opened in September 2020. The contemporary take on Vietnamese cuisine is a collaboration with Chef Tony J. Nguyen

Adding to her list of accomplishments, Ha was named one of the James Beard Award 2022 finalists for Best Chef, Texas region.
