Chick-fil-A gives Houston student the surprise of a lifetime

Amy Gutierrez received a $25,000 True Inspiration Scholarship Award from Chick-fil-A

HOUSTON — It started with a mayonnaise jar in 1973.  Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy wanted to help team member Eddie pay for college, so he put the jar on the restaurant counter.  Since then, Chick-fil-A has helped 53,000 team members with $75 million in scholarships.

This year, Chick-fil-A awarded 136 members $2500 scholarships and one winner a $25,000 scholarship.  Click on the video above to hear Amy's story.
