Oscars by the numbers: Breaking down the biggest night in Hollywood

Millions of viewers are expected to watch the Oscars on Sunday.

HOUSTON — Hollywood is ready to celebrate the 92nd Academy Awards this weekend.

It takes about three months to craft the approximately 50 statues awarded each year.

Before it all gets underway, 750 limousines will get the stars to the show. Crews will roll out 40,000 square feet of red carpet. That's plenty of space for your favorite celebrities to show off their style.

Once the stars make it inside the Dolby Theatre, they'd better sit tight, because it tends to last a while. The longest Oscars in history clocked in at 4 hours and 23 minutes. Compare that to the very first ceremony back in 1929. Believe it or not, it only lasted 15 minutes.

The big show will be watched across 225 countries. Last year, nearly 30 million viewers watched in the U.S. alone. If you tune in this year, don't expect to see a host. The Oscars will be going host-less for the second year in a row.
