RodeoHouston Lost & Found full of hidden treasures

You'll find all of your basics: dozens of car keys, cell phones, even concert tickets. People also turn in coats, cash, boots and purses.

With millions of people attending the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo each year, there are bound to be some items lost in the crowd.

One room at NRG Center houses hundreds of lost treasures.

You’ll find all of your basics: car keys, cell phones, even concert tickets. People also turn in coats, cash, boots and purses.

In the past, they’ve even found diamond rings and other irreplaceable belongings.

But that’s not all that can’t be replaced. The Lost and Found Center is also the place where lost children are brought until they can be reunited with their parents.

Volunteers have books and movies to keep the children occupied.

They say the number of lost children has gone down over the years, but it still happens.

If you do lose something, though, volunteers say just stop by. It may surprise you what someone has turned in.

“Don’t ever think, 'Oh nobody is going to turn in that $20 dollar bill that was in my wallet, that I need' and you know, you just don’t know," Directions and Assistance Chairman Dru Pease said.

Everything left behind at the end of RodeoHouston is donated.

If you recognize anything or you think you lost something at the rodeo, you can call or stop by the Lost and Found. It’s in Room 102 in ‘Hall A’ at NRG Center.

And if you find someone else's treasure, now you know where to take it.
