Victor Jacobo

HOUSTON — Victor Jacobo joined KHOU 11 in August 2023 as a multiskilled journalist.

Prior to arriving in Houston, Victor worked at CBS 58 and Telemundo Wisconsin in Milwaukee. During his five years in Milwaukee, Victor worked as a producer, Capitol Bureau Correspondent in the state’s capital city of Madison and a general assignment reporter covering southeastern Wisconsin.

Victor covered several major stories with national interest including the finding of Jayme Closs, the 2020 presidential campaign, the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse and the Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy.

As a bilingual journalist, Victor provided one of the few Spanish-language news resources in the Badger State and helped establish the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, becoming the chapters first vice president.

During his time in Milwaukee, Victor was a panelist in Wisconsin’s only gubernatorial debate in the 2022 election. He was also named a finalist of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s Young Professional of the Year award in 2023.

Before working for CBS 58, Victor was a producer at WISC News 3 Now in Madison, Wis., also a CBS affiliate.

Victor attended Marquette University in Milwaukee and is an avid fan of MU’s basketball program.

Victor is the son of Guatemalan immigrants and a born and raised Chicagoan.

When he’s not working, Victor enjoys running, cooking, pickleball, golfing and the great outdoors with activities like fishing and hiking. Victor is an avid sports fan and is excited to be in one of the most active sports regions in the country.
