HOUSTON — Brittany Ford joined KHOU 11 in May of 2021. She was born and raised in San Diego, CA and graduated from San Diego State University with B.A. in Communications minoring in English. Brittany joins the KHOU 11 team byway reporting in Fargo, ND, Green Bay, WI, her hometown of San Diego, CA and latest stop in Austin, TX.

She likes to think of her time reporting in the bitter winters of the Midwest as character development and has learned to appreciate the Texas heat! Brittany has a passion for storytelling and has been recognized for work. She was nominated for a Lone Star Emmy Award in 2020 for her coverage on the Heidi Broussard case which made national headlines.

She is a proud National Association of Black Journalist member and recently joined the association’s chapter here in Houston. She says that’s one of the ways she enjoys giving back by connecting and giving people of color a voice in the media.

When she’s not at work Brittany loves to be outdoors and is excited to explore the Bayou City! She enjoys hiking, being by the water, and has a love for horses and equestrian riding. You can usually find her with her sidekick Miles, a 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who loves being carried in her purse!
