John Diaz is a Digital Content Producer for KHOU 11 News, where he joined the team in January 2022.
Prior to KHOU, John was a member of The Walt Disney Company's broadcasting and streaming team for Disney's new digital center in The Woodlands. He also worked as a digital producer at KTRK-TV and interned at KPRC-TV while studying at the University of Houston.
John is originally from San Antonio, where he got his journalism start covering sports for an independent award-winning website called Project Spurs.
He joined the site in 2013 and covered the San Antonio Spurs 2014 NBA Championship, the Austin Spurs 2018 NBA G League Championship, and several Texas high school football state championships.
In addition, Project Spurs was kind enough to let John rant on their podcasts and YouTube channel on a regular basis.
In his free time, John likes to play golf, take his spoiled dog, Apollo, on long walks and watch sports.
You can even catch him yelling in a microphone on Call of Duty or stressing about his fantasy baseball team.
