Hi my name is Eureka Bolton, and the world’s greatest mom to me is my 74 yr old grandmother. She has taken on the mom role in my life since I was two years old. I am now 23. She saw that I was not being cared for properly and took it upon herself to raise me. She raised me as if she was a single mother. She had no help from my mom, dad, or any of my other family members. My grandmother is an extraordinary woman because she was close to retirement, and she knew she had to take care of me and worked for many more years. She went without so that I could have, as though I was her own child. Finally I was about to graduate from high school she retired. She saw that all of my needs were met. She deals with one of the hardest heart aches a parent would have to deal with , her son which is my dad has an addiction to drugs. That weighs a lot on her heart because she doesn’t know where she went wrong with him. As a dedicated mother she can’t turn her back on him and let him go so of course he takes advantage of her. She gives and gives and he gives nothing in return as a result of this she was diagnosed with high blood pressure, which she battles with every day. Not to mention about a year ago I lost my job and my daughter and I had to move back in with her. I had no money to pay my car note, or insurance. With her being the loving mother that she is she paid all of my bills out of pocket, including my daughters’ daycare bill and anything else we needed. I know that was a stressful time for her because she is on a fixed income. With all of these challenges she goes through she sometimes feel unappreciated and I want to show her that her giving is not in vain. Now that I have a daughter of my own, I see what she did for me, she is also doing for her even though she battles with really bad arthritis she still picks my daughter up every day from school while I am at work. She lets my daughter and I live in her other home she usually rents out for free, so that she can help me financially. When my daughter is sick and I do not know what to do she is the first person I can call and she always has a remedy. After 23 yrs of being a mother to me and at the age of 74 she is still the best mom that I know and will always be! She is an angel sent from God and I don’t know what I would do without her.
God has sent us an Angel
