My mom is like my best friend she does everything for not olny me, but my entire family. She works hard day in and day out to make sure everyone is happy and has what they need to succeed. Last year was a very hectic and crazy time for our family, but I know due to my mom we got out of it. It all started with this crazy econoomy we are falling in. My dad along with many other people got laid off from his job. He is an extremly hard working, but the hunt for a new job was very difficult. My mom had to push up to 74 hours at her job each week to get our bills paid, and compensate for all the other crazy things we had going on in our family at the time. My grandmother which is her mother had just been diagnosted with cancer and had to live with us off and on throughout the year until her recovery. My mom cared for her the whole way, and never complained about the extra person in the house. Along with that I was graduating that year, and my whole life aspired to go to the University of Texas. With my mom's hard work and working as much overtime as the would let her I was able to have my dream. I am a freshman at UT now and totaly believe she was a huge part of getting me here. As if that wasn't enough my sister who was days away from leaving to go to Sam Houston State University found out she was pregnant. This was devastating to my whole family, but we got through it together and my mom made sure that even with Aiden my nephew, my sister still to this day is working toward her teaching career as a full time student. My mom does so much for my sister, her baby, and my sister's boyfriend it is unbelievable. My sister is a great mother, but with school and Aiden she is unable to work. So my mom has to make sure they both have the funds and Aiden has an amazing childhood. My mom has been through a lot this past few years, and I would just like to thank her for being there the whole time and never giving up. She isn't only a hard worker and care giver but my best friend and i honestly do not know what I would do without her. I hope you have just a glimpse of how great of a person my mom is and why she should be crowned, Mom of the year!
