I am just about to finish my first year at Sam Houston State University, and the one person that I can thank for this year going so smoothly is my mom, Diane Hendrix. Not only did she provide me with most of my funding, sacrificing her own personal wants so that I can have an enjoyable experience, but she helped me through some of my toughest moments. Lying in my dorm room bed sick with bronchitis, she called me and checked up on me constantly. She supports me in everything I do, especially independent color guard. She would drop everything she was doing just to watch me perform. Eventually, she applied for a job in the color guard circuit—only to then give her earnings to me to pay for my dues. We have so much in common and she pushes me to be a better person. She is one of the greatest people I know, being so selfless and would do anything for anyone. She taught me to be the responsible adult that I am by mostly leading by example. Taking many of my friends under her wing, many of them are proud to call her “Momma Hendrix”.
This is my mommy
