LCSA Member Brad Ballard Pulling Sailboat for Annual Bottom Cleaning

LCSA Annual Boat Spring Cleaning.

Members of the Lake Conroe Sailing Association conducted a successful Spring Maintenance and Repair and Blessing of the Fleet event at the Seven Coves Marina on Lake Conroe this past weekend.

Over a dozen boats were pulled from the water and the bottoms spray washed with a power washer preparing them for the new sailing season.

Starting off the weekend of activities was the annual Blessing of the Fleet performed by the Rev. John Price, LCSA Chaplain.

The Blessing was welcomed by Fred Sheldon, event chairman, who braved 20 mph winds at the top of a crane bucket lift assisting members with repairs to the top of their masts, some of which were over 50 feet tall.

The sailing season begins this week with the first of weekly Thursday evening races on Lake Conroe.

Anybody interested in participating in the LCSA activities can go to their web site, lcsaonline.net or by contacting Fred Sheldon at fredsheldon@aol.com.
