The first photo is of my 10 yr old bulldog, Dixie. She was a breader dog and I adopted her, when she was 5 yrs. Her previous owner past away. I had recently lost my first bulldog and was looking to get another sweet girl. When a puppy proved to be to expensive for my budget, I chose to adopt. The "warning" on her porfolio stated she didn't like other animals, but I thought she would get over it. Lets just say 5 years later, she hasn't! I guess after 5 litters of puppies, losing your owner, and being shuffled through "foster care", I wouldn't like other dogs either. She is really a sweet girl, but tends to get grumpy when asked to do something which might humiliate her. Pictures are not her favorite. She reacts like the paparazzi is following her around and appears to be quite annoyed. She believes she rules the world.
I am a librarian at a Catholic school in Tomball, TX. Each year the parents, of our school, choose a teacher and secretly give them gifts throughout the year. This year my secrete parent, "Pats Pal" gave me a bag of Christmas goodies for my dogs. I'm convinced whoever has me must really know my Dixie and the love I have for my dogs. Inside the bag was a T-shirt for Dixie that reads, "How good do I have to be?" It's priceless and truly fits her personality well. Amazingly fits that chunky Dixie dog too! lol (Please don't mention the "chunky part" on TV - lol)
The second picture is my sweet boy Miles. He is a 11 yr old Blue Healer. He didn't cost quite as much, but is worth millions to me. My "Pats Pal" must know him also, because his Christmas T-Shirt reads, "Santa's Favorite". He is so much smarter than Dixie or I, and I'm convinced we wouldn't survive without him. I know everyone thinks their pets are the best, and that's the way it should be, but he truly is amazing. He is a great baby sitter, house sitter, and mommy sitter. We don't tell Dixie, but she isn't allowed outside without him. I think he is afraid she will get lost in the back yard. lol He really has saved lives and I am VERY grateful to share my life with him.
The 3rd photo is of course them together. I took these pictures a few days ago, in the hopes of sending them in Chrismas cards. It was a challenge. I had to put the poinsettia between them, so Dixie would allow him to sit on the couch with her, but we finally did it. The past few years have been rough Holidays for us three, but we are "back in the pack" and ready to send some Christmas cheer!
Thank you so much for all you do to keep us informed. We watch you every morning. I am grateful for the frequency of "11 on 11", as I am sometimes distracted by a bulldog wanting my spot on the couch. lol
Thanks for allowing me to share my family with you. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!!!
