An apartment fire occurred at the Willowbend Apts on Bammel North Houston at Veterans Memorial this morning around 9am.
The video shows the apt unit where the fire originated engulfed in flames. This video was taken minutes after fire fighters arrived at the scene. They quickly summoned the help of residents to run hoses as they raced to control the fire. The fire spread through the attic to other units. At least 8 FD Units and dozens of fire fighters fought the fire from several angles outside of the building as well as throughout. Within an hour the mass of the flames was under control.
Parametics were at the scene on stand-by and did not treat any medical cases during the first hour. Whether victims were later discovered or fire fighter injuries occurred is unknown.
