The first photo is a view of the Bastrop fire from FM 2981 outside of Fayetteville, TX as the sun went down on 9/5/11.
The second and third photos are from the Lutherhills fire 7 miles NE of LaGrange on 9/5/11. The fire, little reported on TV, effected about 400 acres and devastated ranch land and many structures. The fire was stopped by volunteers before it reached other populated areas of Rutersville, Fayetteville and LaGrange. The fire is mostly contained, but hot spots continue to be a problem.
