This is a feral sow that showed up at my house one year ago.I have gained her trust, although it took a very long time. The other feral pigs in the area have been killed. She is the last one left out here. She has adopted us as her makeshift family. Her family consists of two horses, cats and two small dogs, and my six year old son and I.Her intelligence is amazing. She visits us every morning and evening.I can even hand feed her bread and ears of corn. She has never shown any aggression to us at all.I would like the public to understand that feral pigs are not the monsters they hear about.I feel the inhumane shooting of them makes us the monsters. If they were trapped, and killed without so much suffering,I would better accept the reason behind it.I also would feel better knowing they lost their lives but were able to feed the poor and homeless people.I really feel priveleged to have been able to get to know such a intelligent animal in such a personal level.
