The family of Eric & Elaine Johnson were on the nationally televised show: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that aired on 10.10.10. Scores of Houston volunteers were involved in the fruit of labor that assisted in their home makeover. This married couple has given priority to private schooling their 5 daughters and contribute so much back to the community with their involvement in their non-profit, Optimum Lifestyle CDC, the opening of their marriage coaching office, and their newly released book, “Managing Your Relationship: Master The Workplace”.
The family is intent to not stop at this milestone, but will empower greater testimonies for themselves and others. While their story has been shared on tv, radio, and blogging networks, they have impacted so many first hand. Every bit of support given to this family is multiplied in what this family gives back.
Optimum Lifestyle has a deep passion to expose youth in our underserved community to a whole new world around them and enhance their development. With strategic funding support from TEXAS Parks & Wildlife, they have provided educational outdoor “ed-venture” excursions free to youth to learn conservation skills and participate beyond their expectations in the outdoors. Optimum Lifestyle has now formed working relationships with local, state, and federal government to promote an extreme community makeover.
Over 600 families have been provided tools they need to overcome obstacles, build and maintain healthy relationships, and succeed in life through mentoring, life coaching, and awareness seminars. The Green Outdoors Initiative will encourage youth to give back to our community through green education, green gardening, and staying fit in the green outdoors. “Our goal is to address concerns that face a significant number of youth before they lead to disengagement or delinquency,” says Eric Johnson, “Optimum Lifestyle is “paying it forward” to ensure Houston families, businesses, and community can thrive, and we are coming to a neighborhood near you.”
