The knowledge that they are not alone in their suffering and that what they are feeling is normal, helps children immensely in accepting and talking about their loss experience. Trained volunteer group facilitators use art, writing, acting and play to help each child find their individual way to communicate their difficult feelings. Parental participation is an integral part of our program as well. Parents meet separately from their children in support groups that focus on the issues they face individually, as families and as parents of grieving children.
