Updated today at 5:02 PM
HOUSTON -- It will be hot and muggy Tuesday evening with just a few scattered showers around town, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
Temps will be in the upper-80s this evening with a 20-percent chance for rain.
"Once we get into the overnight hours, it's going to be very steamy," said Garner.
The chance for scattered storms continues Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures increase a few more degrees.
This weekend is looking sunny and very hot with actual temps around 98 degrees in the afternoon and overnight lows in the low-80s.
On Monday we could hit 100 degrees.
Forecasters say a tropical depression has formed over the Atlantic, though it remains far out to sea and is not expected to threaten land. It's expected to fizzle out by Thursday.
