HOUSTON – Thursday's heavy rain should clear out in the late afternoon hours leading up to your trick-or-treat plans, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

We'll top out around 73 degrees this afternoon under cloudy skies with scattered downpours.

This morning tropical moisture combined with a cool front to dump several inches of rain on most parts of town. This rain will continue to move off the coast later in the day.

Your outdoor Halloween plans will depend on what part of town you live in.

“It looks like most of this rain will push off the coast early this evening,” said Garner. “I think we’re looking pretty good in our trick-or-treat forecast, which is pretty lucky considering how much rain we’ve received today.”

Friday the skies will clear out, leaving us with nice daytime temps in the mid-70s for the weekend. Starting Friday into Saturday, our overnight lows will be in the low-50s.
