Last week we started talking about the possibility of some tropical development in the southern Gulf of Mexico this week. Computer models over the weekend, however, are inconclusive as to what may or may not form in the Gulf toward Thursday and Friday this week.. I'm telling everyone to watch the weather at least once a day this week so if something threatens us you won't be caught off guard. However, the fact is none of the computer models show anything hitting the Texas coast. Most take a weak tropical low into Mexico or send a storm spinning off to the northeast toward Florida. See what I mean by 'inconclusive!' For now, the best thing to do is watch us in the morning and evening. We'll keep you posted on the latest and if something does form, we'll be ready for it. Meanwhile, we have increased rain chances today through Wednesday as a mid level low moves in to the Houston area. Keep the umbrella ready to go. Watch out for ponding on roadways during some of the heavier downpours.
