It was 100 at my house in northwest Harris county at 11:am yesterday. Unreal. The dogs ran out to the grass, noticed the heat and ran back for the cool of the house. The sky was a hazy blue with nary a cloud in the sky. Around noon, I began to notice a few cumulus towers going up to the north. Eventually, those towers built into severe thunderstorms that hammered parts of the north, west, and southwest counties. Here are the storm reports from yesterday. Tomball: 3/4" hail Jersey Village: 3/4" hail Intersection of West and Telge: Dime size hail Addicks: Wind damage Cinco Ranch: Wind damage West Houston Airport: 4 Hangers damaged Columbus: 1/2" hail - trees and power lines down. Could see a few of these again late this afternoon. Keep and eye to the sky for those cumulus towers.
