HOUSTON – There is still a chance the Houston area could see a stray shower on the Labor Day holiday, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

For those heading out to the beach on Monday, you could see a stray shower or two in the morning with a 20 percent chance of rain.

However, the showers will head more inland by the afternoon, so there is still a chance to enjoy the beach on the holiday.

After the stray showers move inland in the afternoon, they should clear out by the evening.

This will not be the last time the Houston area sees rain this week. There is at least a 20 percent chance for rain each day this week heading into next weekend.

Overnight temperatures will be in the mid-70s again, but highs in the mid-90s could be deceiving on Monday afternoon.

Combined with the humidity, temperatures will feel more like they are in the triple-digits on Monday, so make sure to stay hydrated if you plan on spending an extended time outdoors.
