HOUSTON -- A Red Flag Warning will be in effect starting at noon Wednesday as breezy winds move back into the Houston area, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

“We are going to see a lot of sunshine today,” said Johnson. “We’re starting off with calm winds, but in anticipation of a front this afternoon, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for later today.”

Low humidity and high winds will create a risk for wild fires this afternoon. Daytime temps will top out near 70 degrees, but it will cool down quickly once the sun goes down.

Thursday through the weekend our early morning temperatures will be very chilly – in the 40s and 30s. Some northern counties could experience a light freeze. Daytime temps will be in the upper-50s and low-60s under sunny skies.

Some clouds move back in and temperatures warm up a little starting Monday.
