HOUSTON – Wednesday was warm and muggy, but rain will bring big changes overnight into Thursday morning, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

The Houston area was expected to top out in the upper-70s and low-80s Wednesday afternoon under cloudy skies. There’s a 30-percent chance of rain heading into the evening hours.

By Thursday morning a front will have moved through, and we’ll be in the low-50s under mostly sunny skies.

“We’re not going to see much of a change Thursday,” said Johnson. “All day we’ll be in the 50s, and by Friday morning we’ll be starting off near the freezing point.”

On Friday we’ll start the day in the low-30s and only reach the upper-50s. Saturday afternoon is slightly warmer under mostly sunny skies. By Sunday we’ll start to see scattered showers again as temps approach 70 degrees.

Taking a look at Christmas Eve, temperatures will top out around 68 degrees with a 40-percent chance of rain. On Christmas Day we’ll have temps around 69 degrees with a 50-percent chance of rain.
