HOUSTON -- Our daytime temperatures in the Houston area will continue to climb by a few degrees heading into the weekend, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

Thursday we’ll have sunny skies and a forecast high temp of 73 degrees.

“The weather is definitely cooperating with your spring break plans,” said Johnson. “Temperatures started off cool this morning, but they’ll be perfect this afternoon if you want to head out to Galveston.”

The sunny skies continue through Sunday, when our daytime temps will reach nearly 80 degrees.

On Monday we have our next chance for rain, but it’s a slight chance at only 20 percent. On Tuesday the chance for rain goes up to 30 percent as temperatures drop back into the mid-70s on Wednesday.
