HOUSTON -- Take your time as you are driving overnight and early Thursday morning because it’s a rainy and windy mess out there, said KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.
Lows overnight Wednesday will hover around 60 degrees with fog , drizzle and wind gusts up to 25 mph.
The storms will move into the Houston area early Thursday morning. By 6 a.m., individual thundershowers will begin popping up in the north and west counties.
From 9 a.m. to noon, the strongest storms will move in. We could see tornadic activity in the northern counties. While the tornadic threat is slight, if we do see tornadoes, it will be in a line from College Station to Conroe to Liberty and the surrounding areas to the north and east.
The cold air moving in could also produce nickel or quarter-sized hail.
By 3 p.m., the storms will move out and temps will be in the 70’s.
There’s a slight chance for a sprinkle Friday morning, but then the day will improve and we’ll have sunshine and temps near 70 in the afternoon.
There will be a mix of clouds and sun on Saturday with a high near 70 degrees. There’s another slight rain chance on Sunday and a high of 71 degrees.
