HOUSTON – Tuesday will be very hot with only a slight chance for showers, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul.
Paul said we may expereince a slight drop in humidity, but a 20-percent chance for rain remains.
"We started out very uncomfortably warm this morning," said Paul. "It will be around 93 degrees at lunch, but we're heading to a high of 97 degrees today."
As of 4 a.m. Tuesday, Isaac was still a tropical storm with max winds at 70 mph. The storm will approach the extreme southeast coast of Louisiana late Tuesday night as a Category 1 hurricane, and then approach New Orleans by daybreak Wednesday.
Isaac is not expected to have much of an impact on the Houston area. Humidity in states to our north will keep southeast Texas muggy heading into the weekend.
"Locally, we get higher seas and we get a north breeze, but I'm concerned now we may not get lower humidity," said Paul. "We do get a north breeze, but that humidity won't drop as much as we thought it would."
