HOUSTON -- We’ll have a stormy Fat Tuesday in the Houston area said KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.
Our viewing area will see some scattered showers, drizzle and mist overnight and into Tuesday morning. Between 3 and 7 a.m., showers will redevelop and there is potential for thunderstorms and pea-sized hail. Severe weather is not in the forecast for your Tuesday morning commute, but you’ll want to take your time as you head out the door.
The first half of Tuesday will be stormy as a system moves through. The rain should come to an end in the afternoon or early evening, but things will then turn chilly and the winds will pick up. As the rain ends, drizzle and mist will continue into the evening.
Starting Wednesday, morning lows will be in the upper 30’s and low 40’s for the rest of the week. Afternoon highs will hover around 60 with partly sunny skies.
