HOUSTON -- The severe threat for severe has now passed, said KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul Tuesday evening.

A line of rain shower is moving through the Houston area. Most areas will get at least 1/10 inch of rain overnight. If you’re on the roads, use caution because of the reduced visibilities.

Temperatures will drop into the 40’s overnight Tuesday after being in the upper 70’s earlier in the day.

As the cold front pushes through, it’ll reach the coast at midnight and clear out as we move into Wednesday morning. Wind gusts will increase into the morning hours.

On Wednesday, expect highs to be in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. These conditions will continue into next week. Overnight lows will be in the 40’s and upper 30’s.
