HOUSTON -- The light rain we’re seeing Thursday afternoon is the beginning of the next storm system that is moving in. The rain has come in earlier than expected, but it’ll last overnight and into Friday, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul.
Conditions for your Thursday evening commute home will be drizzly and misty. Please take your time on the roads.
The rain Thursday night is more widespread south of Houston because of the moisture coming off the Gulf of Mexico. Overnight the rain will continue, but temps will be about 15 degrees warmer than they were Wednesday night.
There is potential for some areas to get heavy rain on Friday.
The rain will clear out this weekend, with lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s for Saturday and Sunday.
