HOUSTON—Despite mild temperatures today and some rain mid-week, afternoon highs aren’t going to drop a whole lot this week, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
This morning we woke up with temperatures and conditions a little less humid than the past few days but as conditions get a little hotter over Tuesday and Wednesday, rain chances return.
Highs on Monday will remain in the low 80s—83 in Huntsville, 83 in Houston and 82 in Katy—and it won’t get much cooler than that during the day this week. Overnight lows, however, will dip into 50s later in the week and northeasterly winds will help keep things comfortable.
As for the tropics, Tropical Storm Rafael is expected to strengthen into a category 1 hurricane sometime this afternoon or evening but the front that moved over Houston overnight will steer the storm eastward.
