HOUSTON -- We may set record low temperatures as we go into the weekend, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul. So enjoy the warmth because temps will drop beginning Thursday night.

Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, lows will be in the 70’s. The drizzle and mist will continue especially in areas from downtown Houston to the coast.

There’s a 20 percent chance for drizzle and light rain throughout the day on Wednesday. The forecast calls for a high of 84 degrees.

As we go into Thursday, we have the chance for severe thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will begin to arrive in southeast Houston between noon to 3 p.m. They will last through the early evening. As the storms push east, colder air will move in.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, enjoy the beautiful weather at the Houston International Festival. Temps will be below normal with highs in the low 70’s.
