HOUSTON –- Residents of southeast Texas woke up to gusty winds and cooler temperatures early Thursday, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
A front moved through overnight bringing with it a little rain and wind. Most of the rain was well off the coast by Thursday morning, but wind gusts between 30 and 40 miles per hour were reported across the area.
“We’ll continue to see steadily dropping temperatures across the area until noon,” said Gomez. “Even here in Houston that cold air that’s in the northern part of the state will eventually catch up to us.”
We’ll top out around 58 degrees Thursday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
Friday will also be pleasant with chilly morning temps in the 30s and afternoon highs in the 60s.
This weekend we warm up a little more with temps near 70 degrees.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we have a good chance for rain.
