HOUSTON – Friday brings another day of drier weather in the Houston area, but the weekend will bring some changes, 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.

High temps are expected to max out at 96, and there were no signs of any rain Friday. But the seven-day forecast shows the wetter weather moving in for the weekend, so Texans’ tailgaters may need to cover up the barbecue for Saturday’s big game against the Cowboys.

There is a 30-percent chance for scattered thundershowers Saturday and Sunday with low temps in the mid-70s and highs in the mid-90s.

The tropics are busy with Earl, Danielle and another developing system, but there appears to be no threat to the U.S. at this time.
