HOUSTON –- Fat Tuesday's cloudy skies will soon clear up, leaving us with crisp and cool temperatures for the rest of the week, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

This will set us up for several beautiful days through the weekend.

“Grab the jackets and umbrellas out the door, but after today you will not need that umbrella for about a week,” said Johnson. “Temperatures are going to stay cool."

Johnson said the skies should start to clear no later than 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. Tuesday. This afternoon our temps will top out in the mid-60s with about a 20-percent chance of rain.

Wednesday through the weekend will be mostly sunny with daytime temperatures in the low-60s and overnight temps in the low-40s and upper-30s.
