HOUSTON -- We could see some unusually cool weather for the end of March in the coming days, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul .

Overnight and into Thursday morning, lows will be in the mid-40’s in the northern counties, while the southern counties will be a few degrees warmer and near 50 degrees.

After a chilly start to the day, Thursday afternoon highs will rebound to the mid-70’s.

Our next chance for showers comes on Friday. There’s a 20-percent chance for rain beginning at 7 a.m.

On Saturday, there’s a chance for a few thunderstorms. Stronger storms are possible in our northern counties.

The best day of the weekend is Sunday. Highs will be near 70 degrees with mostly sunny skies.

Cooler weather returns at the start of next week. Overnight lows will drop down into the 40’s, while highs will only be in the upper 60’s.
