HOUSTON -- We’re off to a nice start in terms of the weather for the start of RodeoHouston, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

Overnight into Friday morning, the lows will be in the upper 40’s on the north side. Areas near Houston and down to the coast will be in the 50’s.

We’ll be off to a chilly start Friday morning. At 7 a.m. temps will be near 50 degrees. It will be fairly cloudy early in the day, but temperatures will almost reach 70 degrees in the afternoon.

If you’re heading out to the Houston Rodeo BBQ Cookoff Friday evening, expect temps to be in the low 60’s.

Afternoon highs will be just above 70 on Saturday and Sunday. Morning lows on those days will be in the low 40’s.

A few light showers are possible Sunday evening and Monday morning.
