HOUSTON – No, Friday is not the end of the world, but it is the first day of winter 2012. The winter solstice officially began at 5:12 a.m. Central time.
Early morning temperatures across most of the Houston area were in the low- to mid-30s, making for a light freeze overnight. This afternoon our temperatures will top out around 60 degrees under sunny skies.
Saturday will also be sunny with a chilly start and afternoon temps in the upper-60s.
On Sunday we’ll introduce a chance for rain that lasts through Tuesday, making for a wet Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Temperatures early next week will be in the 70s, but by Wednesday the daytime temps will be in the 50s.
Have a great weekend!
