HOUSTON –- Wednesday will be another chilly day in the Houston area, but it marks the start of a change:  less rain and a slight increase in temperatures.

Overnight Tuesday into early Wednesday counties north of Houston were near freezing. Downtown Houston was closer to 40 degrees, but breezy conditions made it feel like it was in the 20s and 30s across town.

There’s a 20-percent chance for rain, mainly in the morning.

“We’re still under cloudy skies,” said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson. “On our satellite and radar picture, just to our northwest, we have some nice clearing. That’s what’s expected to move into Houston later tonight heading into tomorrow.”

Johnson said we could see some sun in the afternoon hours, but Thursday is when our weather will really start looking nice.

We’ll see mostly sunny skies and no chance of rain through the weekend heading into next week. Daytime temps will be around 60 degrees, but in our overnight hours we’ll still dip down into the 30s and 40s for the next several days.
