HOUSTON –- Many areas received much-needed rain overnight into Monday morning, and the chance for showers will continue for the next several days, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

There’s a 50-percent chance for rain Monday with a forecast high of 89 degrees.

“Early this morning, even though the conditions are fairly light, we’re going to continue to see them develop throughout the day,” said Johnson. “Most of you will probably see a quarter-of-an-inch of rain today, but some of you could see up to an inch.”

There’s a 50-percent chance for rain on Tuesday as well with a forecast high in the low-90s.

The rain chance continues for the rest of this week.

By this weekend our temperatures will be in the mid-90s under partly cloudy skies with only a slight chance for showers.
