HOUSTON -- Monday kicks off a very hot work week, causing a heat advisory for many across the Houston area, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.
“Temperatures across our area this afternoon will be in the upper-90s, but it’s going to feel a lot hotter than that,” said Johnson. “Stay in the shade when you can and drink plenty of water.”
The heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. Monday for portions of Brazoria, Chambers, Galveston, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, and Matagorda Counties.
We’ll top out around 98 degrees Monday afternoon with a 10-percent chance for stray showers.
Tuesday’s weather is the same – hot with a slight chance for showers.
Later this week we’ll see triple digit temperatures and less clouds in the sky. There is a little relief on the way, however. This weekend a chance for rain returns and the temperatures drop about five degrees.
