HOUSTON – Friday may be the hottest day so far this year, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.
The forecast high for the day is about 98 degrees, but areas north of Houston could see temperatures as high as 102.
“If we do hit 100 today, it will be the hottest day thus far,” said Garner. “Typically we’ll see 100 in mid-July, so we’re a couple weeks ahead of time if we do see it today.”
Saturday’s high is 100 degrees.
On Sunday we drop into the mid-90s, and a slight chance for rain is introduced.
Next week the daytime temperatures drop even more, into the lower-90s. More rain comes into the forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday, but our real chance for rain comes Thursday, July 4th. There’s a 40-percent chance for rain, so keep an umbrella with you during your holiday outdoor activities.
