HOUSTON —Temperatures will be above normal on Galveston Island with highs in the low-90s over the next few days, KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.

If you plan on heading out to the beach this weekend, be sure to hydrate and to take breaks from the sun.

Closer inland, highs in the Houston metro area peaked at 97 on Thursday with some places like Brenham and Cleveland hitting the 100 mark. Overnight temps will drop down to 79 making for a warm evening.

The mostly-clear skies carry over into Friday when the temps top out at 100 degrees.

Saturday will also be hot, but a chance for rain may cool us back down into the mid-90s on Sunday.

Next week, cloudy skies bring us a little relief and drop our daytime temperatures into the low-90s.
