HOUSTON -– Temperatures will drop rapidly in the Houston area Friday as a cold front brings rain to southeast Texas, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

“We’re going to have a big temperature drop,” said Johnson. “Early this morning the temperatures already dropped to the mid-40s in College Station while we were still in the 70s in Houston.”

After the cold front moves through late Friday morning, the Houston area will be in the 40s and 50s. There’s a 60-percent chance for rain today.

On Saturday the temperatures stay chilly with a continuing chance for rain.

The clouds linger through the weekend along with the cold temps.

The skies should start to clear up in time for Thanksgiving, but the temperatures will remain chilly.
