HOUSTON –- Don’t be surprised if you hear some storms rumble through the Houston area Thursday night, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner said.
Storms systems moving westward through northern Louisiana and Arkansas may make their way toward Southeast Texas bringing the area some much-needed rain.
If the storms bypass our area Thursday, there is still 30 percent chance of rain on Friday. The coastal communities could see rainfall in the morning around 8 a.m., while the Houston metro area is likely to see some scattered showers in the afternoon.
Overnight lows will drop down to about 74 degrees before peaking again at 93 Friday afternoon.
The possibility for scattered showers continues through the weekend with a 40 percent chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday.
Things really heat up next week as we approach the upper-90s.
