HOUSTON -- Storms and rain over Central Texas could lead to showers in the Houston area later this afternoon and evening.
KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson says while we missed out on the rain late Thursday, all hope isn't lost.
There's a 50-percent chance for rain today with an afternoon high of 84 degrees. Even without the rain, it'll be very muggy and humid.
Saturday there's a 20-percent chance for rain with even warmer daytime temps.
It will be sunnier on Mother's Day with warm daytime temperatures, but there's still a slight chance for scattered showers.
Monday and Tuesday the chance for scattered rain returns.
Next week we will get a nice little drop in the temps. We'll be in the low-80s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with overnight lows in the low-60s.
