HOUSTON — An upper-level high is keeping southeast Texas dry and hot, but there is a small chance for scattered thunder showers on Friday morning near the coast, said KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.

“I’m not going to give the rain chance any more than 10 percent,” Paul added, “but by noon there may be a couple around.”

There is a 10 percent chance for rain on beginning Friday morning and staying in the Houston area until the afternoon. Temps will top out at 98 degrees. “It’s a dangerous heat,” Paul said.

The afternoon temperatures stay hot through the weekend, but there is a slight chance for isolated showers starting Friday. Our rain chances peak at 20 percent on Sunday and Monday.

Next week looks pretty dry, as well.
